Busy Busy..... LOL...
Been abit caught up in various activities the past few days... so busy... that i didn't have time to go online much... in fact... I'm now blogging in school... becasue I am here by 0700hrs... and my lessons starts at 1200hrs only.... -_-
So do some blogging... waste some time... haha....
Went for my cousin's wedding on Thursday night...
Friday was spent going out with my parents, as well as going back to school to do some orientation and attend briefing for the rock wall climbing on Saturday..... did some try outs with the other ODAC excos...
By the way... I am the only non-exco there... in fact... I'm not even in ODAC... at least not yet for this year... haven't pay membership... haha... waiting for the President to auto-update my memebership.... ^_^
ON Saturday, went to school in the early morning to set up the rock wall... and man it all the way to 1730hrs... for the Open House...
Helped to belay the public as wella s students.. it was rather fun... haha...
Following that... i went for my Japanese classes... was half and hour late becasue of the rock wall....
Sunday basketball...
Monday went back to school to man the rock wall again... this time it's mainly students.. quite fun also... LOL.... in a way... i actually liked what i was doing... so yar... haha.... I'm an outdoor guy man... Haha.....
Went for basketball with LYL at NUS... "chuang" into their basketball court... haha... was abit uncomfortable going in... but soon we were playing with the other people there already.....but that's when i sprained my leg... thanks to a person from NUS whom we are playing with... I was going in for a basket.... then I'm not sure if his leg was already in my path.. or he moved in to block me... and i stepped on his leg while attempting to jump... and because of the uneven surface of my left foot... it landed side-ways....
OUCH~~~~~~
Had to stop playing for awhile... but later joined back in.. limping around to play...
Met up with HK for dinner...went to Clementi interchange ... and that's when I realised my leg was swelling up...
And yesterday morning...I had wanted to go to school early to help out with the rock wall... but after waking up and realising my leg is in quite a bad shape....I decided against school yet.... went to see the Chinese physician later in the morning...fixing up my leg was more important... got so many sports waiting for me... cannot lose the functions of my leg...
After that... then i went to school for lessons... then continued to man the rock wall...
There was a particular incident that left a rather deep impression in me.. or raher... for everyone who was present then....
I was belaying this guy... whom have been for the past few times... tried to climb the wall.. but always got stuck in the middle.. can cannot proceed on.. and he ususally stayed there for very long... till some people abit angry.... haha...
But on this particular try with me as a belayer... haha... things got different... he still takes a veyr long time... but after much cheering from the rest present... and my constant pulling of him.... i was moving back alot.... and pulling very hard.... just to try to help him to move up... haha.... but it's still qutie hard.... but still... in the end... he finally reached the top.... and everyone was cheering for him... and I think he was very touched as well... looked like he was going to cry.. haha... becasue he had been trying for so long and so hard... but couldn't get it.... and i felt particularly honoured... that he managed to reach the top on my turn.... haha...
It was a very happy feeling.... ^_^
And after some time... I pushed him on to attempt another lane.. this time the left lane... which is slightly harder... he was doing the middle lane on the previous attempt...
And i am very happy to say that... haha... despite him staying longer on the wall this time.. with more rest time while beign stuck in the middle again... and in the end he actually moved to the middle lane to finally reach the top.... and i pulled like mad below.. pulled until my hands sore... LOL.... with my other friends helping me to pull him up... and one friend actually went up the middle lane to guide him... he still managed to reach the top again...
Haha... and he had another very touched face on top... LOL....
And yep... it felt good... haha... and when he came down... he was very grateful to me and all... LOL... I'm not used to that man...most of the time... people i belay just come down adn leave... and thank me for abit.. but this guy... lol... hugging me... haha... and in the end bought drinks for the whole ODAC club there... and specially took one can for me....
Wow.... to be honest... I'm quite touched by his gesture... but just by him managing to reach the top, it was a reward enough to make me feel that my hard work is worth it... haha...
And in a way... sort of made a new friend... haha.... he was really thankful to us... and went around getting our names and all....
Haha.. nice chap...
After the last climb.... we went to join in for a small celebration just outside of the school... got prize presentation for the competitive climbing... then got food... and performances... and best of all.. free wine appreaciation.... haha...
I tried all the 6 kinds of wine they put there.... and although we drank from a small plastic cup for each type.. by the 3rd wine... My face was getting red already.. LOL... my ability to take liquor was never good... haha... but i was determined to finish all... free one what... don't try like very wasted... haha... and so wheh i finsihed.. i was getting abit dizzy le.... LOL...
But still managed to compose myself... and sat down to rest awhile... while getting my head back.... and i still went for another cup of a sweet wine.. quite nice... haha....
After that... joined the ODAC exco for dinner at Clementi interchange... before heading home...
Through this activities... SIM suddenly become more like a University instead of simply being an institution of studying... last year... I wasn't that into the CCAs and activities... but after joining in the activities... it suddenly felt that life in SIM can be so much more fun.... haha....
And so.. I've decided to join the track and field competition for discus... representing SIM.... though I'm not sure if i can still throw.... haha...
Life in SIM seem to be getting better this year...
On a more personal note... the ODAC President... my friend... was sharing with me his issues with his exco over the performances.... and it's sort of like a reminder of what happened when i was the President as well....
And I'm qutie glad he shared hsi problems with me... becasue he also knew i was ODAC President before... haha... and told me about issues about exco members and stuffs.. and we were sharing views and all....
I'm just glad i can lend him my listening ear... and give him some advice from my experience... I must admit I wasn't performing well as a ODAC President in my time... I wasn't mature enough to manage people and problems... there were issues here and there... so I'm glad to share this experience with others...
Like me... my friend was also never in a leader position, and was chosen to be the ODAC President just like that.... and as a result... sometimes we do lack direction and experience... in terms of manging people.. especially the exco.... and so problems do arise occasionally...
I just have this word for exco members.... it's not easy being the President....it's a thankless job... when things go wrong... the first person to be shot will always be the President... and the President also have to take care of these and that... worry about this and that... ensure this and that... it's a never-ending job... and it is defintely not an easy job....All the problems will have to be borne by him/her.... scoldings and all....
So it is always good that the exco members can give their support to their President... no matter in times of bad or good... or even when the President makes mistakes.... help him/her out whenever possible... afterall... since you all are in it together....
I guess fortunately for my friend.... he's managing more mature people...all in university already mah.... so in a way... it's easier to talk to and all....
Oh well... those were the days....
